West Chatsworth Included in LA County’s 2026 Valley Area Plan Draft; Residents Can Review Proposed Zoning

WEST CHATSWORTH, Los Angeles County — The Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning has included West Chatsworth in its proposed San Fernando Valley Area Plan, a long-range land-use and community policy effort for the area’s unincorporated neighborhoods.

The county released a public review draft on February 19, 2026. Project materials address planning issues such as neighborhood character, infrastructure, mobility, conservation and public services. West Chatsworth has its own community profile, including material about Chatsworth Lake Manor and surrounding residential areas.

County Planning offers an interactive map for inspecting proposed zoning and land-use amendments by address or parcel number. A draft proposal is not the same as an approved zoning change, and specific requirements may be revised during the planning process. Residents should verify the currently adopted zoning before drawing conclusions about development rights.
